when to Replace Your Umpire Pads, Straps and Harnesses:

• Mask pads or helmet pads: At least every 2 years no matter how much you umpire
• Chest protector harness: If it is sagging, needs constant re-adjusting or if your collar bone is exposed after maximum tightening
• Shin guard straps: If they lose elasticity and your shin guards are moving around
• Mask harness: If it loses its elasticity or if the stitching is coming undone
