Umpire gloves offer low profile warmth, flexibility and grip for using indicator, pen/pencil and more without the bulk found in other gloves (Franklin Cold Max is exception on grip and should be reserved for the bases).

In brands, Manzella & Under Armour gloves are lightweight for cool weather or can be worn as a base layer under other gloves. Franklin & PalmGard offer an all-weather glove. The one for the coldest of weather is the Franklin Cold Max. Industrious Handwear offers two styles; winter style (thicker), and year-round (breathable).
