Wilson MLB New View Chrome Moliben Umpire Mask with Two-Tone
Saint Helens, OR
It is light, and I have taken a few batted fouls in both varsity and Independent adult baseball leagues with this mask. Although a hit like that is alarming--and looks much worse than it is when wearing a mask of this quality--I felt nothing. Excellent protection.
Nice rig. Does have a better view than the standard depth Dyna-Lite. Some stay away because of the extreme non-deflection properties of the frame. You will want to add an extended throat guard if you use this. Take a look at the side view, there is really almost no additional throat protection with the angled attached guard.
Mask is very lightweight. I got this mask to have two; one for day games, the other for night games. I recommend that you buy a water proofer for the leather if you sweat a lot. If you don't you'll have to buy new pads next year.
