Wilson MLB Gold 4" Umpire Throat Guard

Excellent quality! And, the gold “W” matches the pads on my titanium mask. The perception of others is, you’re as good as you look. Recently, a ball was fouled back and I had thought my lower mask was struck, but after the game, I noticed a ball mark on my throat protector. The protector was not compromised (nor was my throat). Had I not been wearing a guard, surely I would have been hit above my chest protector and likely in my throat area.

Purchased this for my titanium umpire helmet for added protection. Sometimes forget I have it on. Definitely does its job. A must have for every umpire.

I needed the yellow W to match my Wilson mask I purchased from Ump-Attire.com. Less bulky than the 6". The color MLB logo looks great! This is part of making me look my best on the field!

The Wilson Throat Guard is a perfect match with my Hockey Style Umpire helmet. Easy to attach and remove. Length is such that the guard never gets hung up on your shirt or stuck under chest protector.

I'm very happy with the 4" model of this product. I replaced it with the Wilson 6" model and I like the look (yellow "W" instead of the white "W" which goes well with my Wilson mask and my black wrap around black with yellow "W" Wilson mask pads). I believe that I still have the protection that I need. The 6" model just seemed too long and cumbersome. The 4" model fits better into my mask bag thus making it easier to pack into my equipment bag. I also like the MLB Logo.

Put this on as soon as I got it and didn't even notice it was there. Nice to know I'm better protected without feeling a thing. Looks great on my Wilson Dyna-lite Aluminum umpire mask, too.

This throat guard is perfect to add on most any hockey style umpire helmet. I have a Diamond now, but I am shopping around for a new Wilson helmet when they come back in stock. It will fit perfectly and look sharp on the Wilson helmet. I got the 4 inch and it seems to give me plenty of coverage. It kind of pushes against my Wilson gold chest protector at times and limits neck movement but the protection is definitely worth the minor adjustment you have to make at times.

Acutally really, really cool. The MLB logo, and the gold W just...rocks. Plastic is solid, fits the mask perfectly. Don't even know it's there.

Love that this throat guard has snaps rather than velcro to keep in place.

I love Wilson products! Not only does it look sharp, but very effective. I bought this throat guard and right on cue, in the very next game I called, it got tested really quick. I didn't feel a thing and it did its job! Love the 4" because it gives you that head movement you need without impairment. I will only buy Wilson from now on, and only from Ump-Attire.com

Bought this thinking it was smaller then my other one but was not, I am happy because it matches my mask very well with the gold W - love my Wilson umpire products - just another great product from a great company.
