The best shin guards, hands down! Very comfortable and provide ultimate protection. I highly recommend these!

Comfortable… the extra toe protection is easily removed when you are wearing plate shoes, or keep it on if you aren’t. Extra protection on sides is nice for those odd passed balls and foul tips. Protection level is sufficient for any level of baseball you want to work.

Easily a 5 star. Great protection and comfortable. Protects above knee caps also. Maybe a little much up to 50/70, then I’d choose something a little lighter. Took a heater straight the shin and put a hole in the pants but didn’t feel a thing. For fitting purposes I’m 5’9 and the 15.5 fit like a glove.

Wilson West Vest Pro Gold 2 Umpire Shin Guards are exactly what I expected them to be. Comfortable fit with the memory foam strip. Excellent protective coverage (although I have not taken a direct hit yet, I’m sure they’ll perform as advertised). Enjoying the peace-of-mind the ankle guards and additional upper knee pads provide (my previous shin guards did not have these features). Would recommend them to any umpire working higher youth, collegiate or pro games.

These are a little more bulky than the Force3 umpire shin guards I previously purchased. I do feel I have better protection on kneecap vs. Force3. These are lighter than the previous West Vest Gold shin guards I purchased years ago. Definitely would recommend for higher level games where velocity gets up there.

I had the Wilson platinum shin guards prior to these. I like these just as much as those. I like that they added the option to take the toe guard off. I don’t feel a thing when I take a ball off of these.

I originally had the Force3 but had to change to these due to sizing. You can't be wrong with Force3, but these Wilsons are top-notch. Very comfortable; I took a few to the shin and did not feel anything. Great product by Wilson!

I recently purchased these as an upgrade for the Diamond Featherweights. The protection is top notch all the while not feeling bulky or heavy. I did 9 ball games this past weekend with 3 behind the plate and did not feel a thing. I highly recommend to umpires of all levels.

These are very similar to the platinum shin guards, which were already my favorite pair of shin guards. I like the memory foam channel and the color on these! I do wish they had all memory foam padding for a lower profile similar to the new chest protector.
Hello,
I measure 17.5 inches from my plate shoe to the center of my knee. Which size would you recommend, the 17 or 18.5?
Thank you! – John Stahon
A:
Thanks for the question. We would recommend that you try the 17 inch size. You want to be closer to your true size by 1/2 inch than over by a whole inch. If that does not work out, we do offer free returns.
