Had it for nearly two seasons now and have taken shots to nearly all areas. I definitely feel the shot each time, with one to the side underarm flappy pads bruising (nothing to the hard shell ever bruised, and to be honest, the pads to the side protecting the underarm are pointless and flip up constantly). A recent 80 mph fastball straight to the chest stung but there was no mark or bruise. I like this chest protector, but will be upgrading to a West Vest as soon as this one wears out.
