This is my second System7 umpire mask. I decided to upgrade to the 4000 series due to working college games. This is very comfortable, even on hot days.

I just received the All-Star Pro Series System 7 Umpire Helmet 4000. This is my third helmet of the All-Star series 4000s. It seems heavier than the previous model 4000. It has more padding than the previous model, which is nice. I was able to put it on immediately without having to adjust the straps for comfort and fit. The problem I have is trying to put it on or take it off while wearing my Oakley Radar® Path® sunglasses. With the added thick padding on the shell at my ears, I cannot quickly put on the mask or take it off without the glasses moving or coming off my face. I wore it for the first time yesterday (Thursday, March 17, 2022) having received it on (Wednesday, March 16, 2022). Game time was at 6:00 pm and the sun was brutal to my left. I finally had to remove my glasses permanently in order to be more effective on the dish. Fortunately, the sun quickly dropped behind the tree line and the rest of the game of putting on and removing the mask went unimpeded. My only option (as of this writing) is to either trim down the foam padding at my ears or remove them completely. I suppose a third option is to buy another type of sunglasses that will hopefully not impede the removal of my mask. I am not sure about doing trimming or pad removal as I do not want to ‘void the warranty’.

I purchased the All-Star Pro Series hockey-style mask, and I am so impressed with the great vision and professional look we as umpires have wearing this awesome mask. I had the Wilson Shock FX 2.0 prior to this and never ever will go with Wilson again after All-Star came about. Thank you for the helmet Ump-Attire.com.

Questions About This Product

Q: I wear a small/medium cap 7 1/8. I am thinking about getting a hockey style mask for baseball. Would this hockey-style mask fit my small/medium size head?
– David Stefaniak

The sizing factor one must consider with a helmet is how wide one's forehead is fitting in the front of the helmet as this is the only non adjustable section. You will be able to tighten the backside padding to fit to size. Take advantage of our Free Returns policy to truly discover if this helmet is for you!
