I don't like the big throat guards, but I'd taken a few bad pitches that bounced off the ground to the throat area so I decided to get this one and it's perfect in my opinion.

The 4 inch one says Y which I think stands for youth, but it works great as a little extra protection on an umpire mask. Don't really think you can go wrong.

This is a must. Took a foul tip off a fastball right to the throat protector. The protector came up and cut into my chin a little bit, far better than a shot to the throat. Best thing to have for a few bucks.
