New Balance V3 All-Black Low-Cut Umpire Base Shoes
Official 2-Minute Review: New Balance V3 Umpire Base / Field Shoes
Ty shows you all of the features that make the V3 New Balance's best umpire / referee shoe.
Great shoes so far, well built, easy to clean (which is great!) and comfortable. As far as ordering, I would suggest ordering up a size and if you're on the border of having wide feet, go wide! I originally ordered these in the standard fit 11.5 (which is my normal shoe size, never have worn anything "Wide" or non-standard before) but when the 11.5 showed up, it was way too small (narrow) and a tad small in length. I picked up the 12 in the EE width, and it is perfect; allows for double-sock, super comfortable so allows for long days with multiple games if needed. Also, the return/exchange program with them was top-notch - SUPER easy to return and get refunded for the pair that didn't fit. Giving 5 stars for not only the shoes, but the exchange policy and quick turnaround.
Love these umpire base shoes so far (but for the fit). I find they run a whole size small. Based on other reviews, I ordered a half size larger than the NB turf shoes they replaced. Wasn't enough. My previous base shoes were 11.5 2E, so I ordered 12 2E. My toes were rubbing on the sides. Had to purchase a 12.5 2E directly from New Balance (ump-attire didn't have them in stock). So, my advice would be to order a whole size larger. I ordered a half size larger with the new NB plate shoes, and the fit was perfect. These I needed a whole size larger (12.5 2E instead of 11.5 2E). Hopefully, I can gift the 12.0 2E's to a new umpire next Spring!
Lightweight and comfortable. Great pair of shoes for baseball/softball and football.
Questions About This Product
|Q:||I generally wear 10 1/2 in shoes. What size do suggest for these? I have seen some reviews that suggest they are little tight?|
– C'Kiimba Hobbs
Thank you for reaching out with a great question, C'Kiimba. The New Balance shoes tend to run true to size. The size 10 1/2 in the D width are going to be very similar to most running or tennis shoes. The 2E width is slightly wider and would be ideal for a wider foot and the 4E is extra wide and would be ideal for the widest foot. We are proud to offer free returns/exchanges, so you are encouraged to purchase the size(s) you feel will be the most proper size for you and if it does not work out well, you may return or exchange them at no extra cost to you.– Brandon Lawson
