Official Review: Diamond iX3 Umpire Chest Protector
Lightweight, moldable, breathable, and protective. See why we recommend the Diamond iX3 Umpire Chest Protector.
Primarily use this chest protector for Freshman and JV games. Would feel comfortable wearing it during varsity as well. Fairly lightweight and breathable, can still wear during hot summer days. The extra upper arm guards and lower ab guards are a nice addition and can be removed.

Very light weight. Have not tried above 12U.
I've used this chest protector for around 6 games so far on 14u. I love the slim fit but a little worried that it might not be as protecting as my hard shell Wilson Pro West Vest. I mainly bought this one for the middle of summer and fall when I'm on the field for 8 games a day. I feel like this chest protector will be much cooler.
Questions About This Product
|Q:||What is the best way to clean the sweat and dirt from this chest protector?|
– Charlie Johnson
By hand is the safest way. I'd treat it just like a car wash. Bucket of warm soapy water, a bristle brush, and spraying down with a hose. Let hang dry for a couple of days in a well ventilated space. Consider carrying an aerosol cleaning spray to apply after games.
