Fits and feels well. Great price for a hard shell umpire chest protector. I haven't had a chance to use it yet as we have been shut for Covid-19.
With the removable pads and mobility in this umpire chest protector makes it my favorite out there. It gives great shoulder protection and the ability to move and turn unlike some other protectors out there. I would recommend another harness to hold this on solid. After a season it lost its elasticity.
Don't waste your money. Spend the extra $60 and get the West Vest Platinum or Gold. I bought it, so I was stuck using it. It doesn't form to your body no matter how tight you make it and makes you look "frumpy" under your shirt. It does provide adequate protection. I've taken a few direct shots at 90+ and it's nothing more than a "thud" But, then again, how often are you really taking one off the chest?
Questions About This Product
|Q:||How thick is this chest protector and is it low-profile?|
– Ethan Mcnamara
The padding of this Wilson Chest Protector is approximately 1.5" thick. As for being low-profile, this chest protector is the middle of the road compared to others we offer. If you are looking for a low-profile chest protector, read the low profile section of the umpire chest protector buying guide.– Brandon Lawson
