I bought the Champro Air Management CP to provide more coverage to my lower torso than my West Vest. I've been using it for a couple months now and have taken a couple shots to my chest and shoulder that I hardly felt. In addition, the collar around my neck provides outstanding coverage and the CP conformed to my body after the first use.
The 16" XL provides me with the torso coverage I was looking for with outstanding protection comparable to my West Vest. The only downside against this chest protector is there is no visible "air management" in its design and I am no cooler than the West Vest. So don't buy it because of its name or you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for great protection at the varsity high school level and above, you cannot beat this CP. If you're looking for a CP that keeps you cooler than other CP's, this one isn't it.

I'm making the transition over from a soft shell CP so it takes some getting used to but once into the flow of the game you don't notice. Haven't taken any major foul balls yet but I have confidence this CP will do its job. I like the fact that you can remove hard plates and some padding for cleaning and also for comfort. My other CP was same brand and it served me very well so stayed with same brand just different model for higher level baseball.

Coming from an Adam’s HDV. I’m 5’11” but my torso is long so I bought the 14”. It fits perfectly. Swapped harness for an Ump-life. Wore it on the plate, and absolutely loved how it felt while I worked. Took one hit to the shoulder. Fantastic vest for HS. I’ll update after it’s broken in.

Great chest protector! I had previously worn an older Wilson West Vest that was loaned to me. The Champro AMT is much more low profile but after taking numerous shots from foul balls and the occasional ungloved fastball straight to the shoulder/chest area, I’m just as confident in it as I was the West Vest. Whether it’s 11U travel ball or High school, it absorbs impact well!!
