Smitty Charcoal Grey Base Umpire Pants with Expander Waistband

These base umpire pants fits perfectly. They look great. I umpire over 300 games a year. I need a good pair of pants that can with stand the wear and tear. Depending on how long they last, I may repurchase them in the future.

Great pants! I've worn Honig's for years, trouble is they're too big even though waist size is correct. These Smitty's look a lot better while still giving enough room for movement. I made the switch a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier.

By far the most comfortable pants I have worn. Was able to size down due to the expanding waistband, which made all the difference in the world. Lightweight and breathable, which is a great thing with the hot Southern California summers!

Great fitting umpire pants can use as plate pants as well little tighter than plate pants but good in a pinch. Comfortable quality umpire pants at a great price.

Just purchased a new pair of base umpire pants to replace a pair that had finally after 5 years of using them had faded to something less than Charcoal. These things stand up to the test of time. Never had to repair a seem in the old ones and they are very comfortable.

After getting hemmed, used these the last two weeks with 90 plus degree heat. Held up great in the heat, feel good. Very good professional look and feel. Definitely need another pair.

The Smitty base pants are a good buy. They are comfortable to wear in both the cold early-season games and are good to wear during the summer games also. They are more affordable than the new stretch umpire pants and will not fade as quickly. The elastic waist is great to have for the flexibility of tucking in a jacket or that extra weight during those early games! I have nothing negative to say about these pants. They get the job done and don't break the bank. For some of us, we still prefer the old poly-wool pants over the new stretch material for looks as well.

Good durable pants. However, they do fade rather quickly after many games in the sun to a light shade of pinkish-grey. And it becomes very noticeable on the combo pants when you remove your ball bags and you can see the difference in color where the ball bags locked the sun.

Just what I had expected. Great quality, great fit. Love the new inside waistband designed to better keep shirt tucked in. Ordered on a Sunday, delivered three days later. Terrific service as usual.

I've only had these pants in my gear bag; in both plate and base. When my 10 yr old son started umping this year; these were a no-brainer. They fit him great and he's able to scoot all over the field and look professional doing so! Don't change these AT ALL!

Excellent quality umpire pants I bought these after I had already bought some combo pants. They definitely are comfortable and I would suggest that with expander waist band you order a size down.

Quality of the umpire pants is good. I would order a size down with these because of the expander waist band. They are also baggy enough for me (6'2" - 165 lbs) to use as plate pants. This is unfortunate because I was looking for base pants.

Very good umpire pants. Have owned a few pairs. They have held up extremely well. Great price, comfort and fit.

First pair of Smitty's (and base pants), only had Gerry Davis in past. Feel lighter weight and softer but only marginally cooler, if at all. Not as sloppy when running. Too bad there's not a little more room in the crotch. I could wear as plate pants, too, but the cup bulges way too much. Recommended.

Great pants!! Shade is a little lighter than the Gerry Davis pants but they fit and do not fade like previous version.

Very good pants for working a lot of games. Machine wash. My only complaint I had was the placement and number of belt loops. I had my tailor sow an extra belt loop in the back.
