I have had Diamond products before and was looking to replace a 10-year-old pair of Honigs. I was excited to get this set because I like the quick-release clip idea, but it turns out there are lots of them. The top could not be loosened enough to stop it from rubbing awkwardly in spots. Taking shots off of the knee was not fun since the pad does not completely cover the entire width of the front of the knee. Since it is just elastic, eventually, it is just going to get loose and dangle out of position reducing its ability to provide the same protection on day 300 as day 1.

These umpire shin guards are light weight and still provide maximum protection. The smaller profile allows for easier movement behind the plate. Great buy!

These shin guards are light weight and comfortable. These shin guards are compact and do not look to bulky under the uniform. They are easy to adjust, and are we easy to move around in. The top straps have a tendency to rub, so long socks or tights are highly recommended.

I just got these new umpire shin guards near the end of the high school season and I was hit directly in the guard the first game out with them and didn’t really feel the impact like my old ones. I am so glad I chose this brand. It is compact but gives great protection.

It gives good protection and is comfortable to wear.

Bought these as I recently got into umpiring. Overall, superb quality. I did size up and am glad I did so for more protection. I wish the foot guard was simple to detach, but I cut it off as I have plate shoes. As others have said I wear tights or long socks to help protect from the straps.

Purchased these for high school ball. They are less bulky than my Wilson umpire shin guards which will give me more room to move, especially when working alone.

Just got these a week ago and have used them about 9 games so far from 14u to HS Varsity ball. Love them. They are lighter weight and color than my Wilson Pros with just as much protection.

Great for Majors-Juniors, but gotta have tights. These are light but the straps can definitely dig in on the thighs if you don't have some tights under them.

I have the Diamond mask and chest protector. When I needed new shin guards this season, I decided on the Diamond shin guards. These are wonderful, another great product by Diamond. Great design and fit. Not heavy and bulky like other shin guards.

While I'm sure that these would be fantastic shin guards, they run one size small. I am 6'4 and I bought the 18.5 inch size. When I received them they felt short and sure enough when I took out my tape measure it measured 18.5 to the TOP of the knee, not the middle of the knee (like other shin guards). I sold them to a fellow umpire in my association who normally wears 17 inch shin guards and he loves them. He says they are lightweight and doesn't feel much when he takes a shot off the shin. So overall, while these are good shin guards, order one size up.

Great product for working up to the Varsity level, but beyond that you might be hurting on a direct shot. Got nailed by a uncaught fastball in a collegiate summer league and I have a pretty nasty lump and will be upgrading. Comfortable, breathable, and light, but these tend to slip down a lot during games.

Had to replace a prior pair of these. Very light and really don't feel the "hit" when the catcher misses the pitch. Not sure how it would be for 65+mph pitches in softball or baseball though.

I got tired of carrying around the 5 lb. West Vest shin guards. These Diamond shin guards are light and comfortable. The sizing was not right so I had to return them and get the next size up. Beware that you may want the next size up. This is why I took off a half star.
I removed the top of foot protector. I also confess that I removed the thigh protector. I found it uncomfortable and can never remember getting hit in that spot in 17 years of umpiring. So I cut it off, it made them much more comfortable and I love the weight.

Great product. I wear them without toe cap. Great shin guard for ultimate protection for any level. They are very comfortable. I love all the Diamond umpire products.

I had to return these. The sizing not right. In another review, the person stated that he was 5'-11" and that they were too short. I am 5'-8" and my leg measures 15.5"; from kneecap to ankle as shown on sizing chart. Also, my existing set is 15.5". So, I was confident when ordering a 15.5", but they are too short by probably a couple of inches. I may order the next size up because I like the light weight and the price but I am worried that the next size up might be too large.

Excellent shin guard for a good price. Light weight, comfortable and great protection.

These shin guards provide awesome protection! I have had no issues wearing them for 3 years. They are lightweight, durable, and provide great coverage. The clasps have rusted a bit but the straps can be easily replaced. They're easy to run around in and don't move around too much during the game. I would buy them again!

I have worn these for several seasons, Spring, Fall and Summer. They are very comfortable. I like that there is a detachable piece for the top of the foot. As I upgraded my plate shoes this was no longer needed. But it was great to have when I needed it. I recommend wearing long socks under during hot days as they can become very hot and irritate the skin as with any set of shin guards.

I umpire at the Little League level, minors, majors, and juniors. These shin guards are affordable with great protection and mobility. Sizing is critical and mine fit perfectly. The foot and ankle areas are fully protected and I am able to move about comfortably. A great product!

I ordered these shin guards and measured the size of my leg according to the measuring chart. I am 5 foot 11 and my leg was 15.5. So I ordered that size. The shin guards of that size were too sshort. The ankle protector was at my calf. The lower shin protector was not very large (looked like a kid pad) and the knee protection was way too bulky. Not what I expected. Dissapointed but will return the product and keep looking for good shin guards

I have worn these guards two seasons, Spring/Summer and Winter. They are light weight and seem to handle ball impacts up to senior league very well. Very comfortable even through three straight games in the heat. They didn't wear any holes in my pants and I can put them on without taking off my pants. They are easy to run in if umpiring alone and you need to get down the line.

The Diamond shin guards have worked out great. Excellent all-around protection and they are very mobile. With the floating knee-cap I never worry about a ball getting the bottom side of my bent knee and I can count on landing on it if I drop to my knees. Great set, light weight - I recommend!

Very good product. Light weight yet sturdy. Would recommend to anyone.

Excellent shin guards. No irritation, light weight and moves easily. These guards have a large enough knee area and a floating knee so you don't need to be concerned about them staying exactly put. The backing dries quickly and the exterior nylon cleans off nicely. I recommend!
