For many years I used an All-Star Catchers mask, because I didn’t want to pay the extra $100 for the Wilson. After doing a few high school games my neck and upper back were hurting because of the weight. I finally took a leap of faith and purchased the Wilson Titanium Helmet and I have not regretted it. I instantly felt the difference and no more neck pain. It’s light as a feather and I highly recommend the purchase for those who like hockey style masks. It literally is almost a whole pound lighter than the All-Star.

I love this helmet. Very lightweight without sacrificing protection. It was tight at first on the ears but loosened after 5 or 6 games. I wear a 7 3/8 cap for reference.

I absolutely LOVE my Wilson MLB Pro Stock Titanium umpire helmet. It's snug and I feel even more protected than the steel one that I had been using. I recommend this to any umpire. Top notch quality and comfort!

It fits snug but there is plenty of padding in the necessary spots so I'm happy about that. I'm not sure how somebody wears a cap under this, I tried and tried but man is it tight. Overall, I'm happy with it. I'm getting to the point in my life where going lights out even once anymore simply isn't an option so I went with the hockey style mask and I'm a fan of this one.

Way to tight!!!! The padding is great, but lands right on the ears. Glasses or sunglasses can not be worn with this umpire helmet. If you manage to get the helmet on with your glasses, you are not able to get the helmet off quickly when needed. I should've read the reviews prior to this purchase.

I love the look, weight, and finish of the helmet, BUT it runs small. My cap size is 7 3/8 and only after a lot of adjustments was I able to *squeeze* it over my head. Very uncomfortable and not practical for 9 innings of use. Due to the side padding in the helmet, unless you have a truly tiny—and I mean tiny—head, I can’t imagine anyone being able to wear sunglasses underneath.

This umpire mask is amazing! Comfortable and lightweight. I owe this mask my life since, without it, I would not be alive today. I bought this 2 years ago, replacing my standard mask (10+ years old). Last season I had a ball come off the bat and curved weird and hit me in the ear!!! It took me out of the game with only a headache and some ringing in the ear, but at least I'm still alive!!!

I had no idea they discontinued the Shock FX2.0. This is as inferior a product "improvement" as I have ever seen. Compared to the Shock 2.0, the comfort level is terrible, the visibility is terrible, and there's far less ventilation. As others have stated, no way you're getting sunglasses under this and I had no problem wearing sunglasses under my old helmet. Also, since you don't have the springs in the mask, you're going to feel those foul balls a lot more. I also don't care for the shape or style compared to my Shock 2.0. Epic fail, in my opinion. If you're coming from a Wilson Shock FX 2.0, don't even waste your time. I am currently looking at other helmets as this will be returned.

Have now used it for over week. A couple of games to get it adjusted with my eye glasses and the feel of the pads inside. It was a hot weekend and this umpire helmet stayed cool. Of course after a couple of foul balls, the first thing I said was, "Money Well Spent".

Do not buy this helmet if the following apply to you: you have a larger head (I wear a 7 3/8), if you wear prescription eyewear, or if you wear sunglasses on the stick. While the comfort is good versus the leather headband of the FX 2.0, it will NOT accommodate eyewear, and you will lose a layer of skin on your ears if you have a larger head. I am very disappointed with this latest attempt from Wilson. I ordered an All-Star System 7 helmet, it accommodates my eyewear, my larger head, and while I would implore All-Star to fit it with a titanium mask to shave off a bit of weight, the comfort is way, way ahead of this helmet.

I have only worn this helmet for three games and really like it. Two things, it is tight on my ears to the point it rubbed a layer of skin off my right ear. With it being this tight there's no way to wear any kind of glasses. I do have kinda big melon, 7 1/2. Outside of it being tight and can't wear glasses, I like it.

I like this product. There seems to be an improvement with the inner lining over its predecessor. It also seems that it flips off a little easier while wearing sun glasses under the mask.

I waited awhile for this helmet to come out, and I was very impressed with the comfort and durability of it! The helmet is just a little small for my big head though, and my prescription glasses don't fit well in it at all. I wear Oakley prescription glasses and sunglasses, and whereas my sunglasses fit great, the padding gets in the way of my regular glasses, distorting my view. If you have a bigger head or wear prescription glasses, I'd say to lean more towards the older titanium shock 2.0 if possible.
Do I need a throat guard with this helmet?
– Mark Carroll
A:
Adding more coverage is great! The guard should be attached at the bottom bar of the mask frame.

Q:
What is the most amount of stitches a hat can have that will fit in this mask? I like to wear a hat when behind the plate. Will my six-stitch work? Thanks! – Alistair McEvilly
– Hunter Fry Buyer, Customer Service Specialist, Former Basketball Referee
Q:
I wear a size 7 1/2 to 7 5/8 hat. Most hockey style masks don’t come in my size. I have tried this model and it’s too small. Is there a bigger size available? – James Walters
A:
Thank you for your question. No, this helmet is not available in a bigger size.
– Hunter Fry Buyer, Customer Service Specialist, Former Basketball Referee
Q:
I wore glasses which were no problem with my old Wilson Shock fx2.0. So a few years ago, I bought a replacement for it, also a Shock fx2.0 and put it away, figured it would work with glasses, just like it did with my old one, but came to find out, it doesn't. Will this helmet allow me to wear my glasses? – Danny Gonzalez
A:
The padding is noticeably a little tighter along the side of the helmet. May be a bit more restrictive with glasses. With free returns, it's worth trying on.
– Ty Unthank Marketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire
Q:
Does any wear a 6-inch neck guard with this mask? – Carlos Flores
A:
A throat guard can be attached to the helmet on the first crossbar up from the bottom of the frame.
– Ty Unthank Marketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire
Q:
Is this available with a sliver mask? – Eddie Cherrix
A:
I'm sorry Eddie, but this umpire helmet is not manufactured with a silver frame.
– Ty Unthank Marketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire
Q:
Do you sell replacement pads for the helmet? – Robert Moore
A:
Wilson has not currently released replacement pads for this new helmet. At this time, we are not offering replacement pads for this helmet.
– Brandon Lawson Support Specialist, Pro Umpire School Graduate and Umpire, Football Official & Basketball Referee
Q:
Are the pads interchangeable between the Wilson Pro Stock Umpire Helmet and the Wilson FX 2.0 Titanium Helmet? – Oscar Cabassa
A:
I'm sorry Oscar, but the pads in this Wilson Pro Stock Umpire Helmet are not interchangable with the pads from the Wilson FX 2.0.
