These socks are a good alternative to tights, but they are narrow. I popped the elastic at the top the first time I put them on, and they have a bit more compression than I'd prefer. That being said, they held their position above the knee for 11 innings behind the plate and kept the straps of my shin guards in check.

As with all Under Armour products the quality is generally very high and the fit is dead perfect, however, the manufacturing designs causes weird tiny holes at the stripes which run all up and down both sides of the socks. This looks like it could cause runs. At first I thought this was a packaging error but it's actually how the socks are designed. These socks can go over the knee which is great for shin guards and knee pads. Overall they are very comfortable and perform very well but I do not recommend these for applications other than sports.

Overall a decent pair of socks, and they do extend over the knee as I was looking for. My rating is only because the elastic at the top is very tight and because it is also very narrow, it is uncomfortable for me. I am not an unusually large person but find that I have to roll the top of the sock below the knee to use these socks. I believe a wider elastic at the top would solve this problem.
Questions About This Product
Q: | Are these socks truly over the knee or are they barely to/over the knee? – Fred Koshen |
A: | These Under Armour socks fit well over the knee for most of our customers. They measure 20.5" from the heal to the top of the sock. If these socks are not long enough for you, an even longer option is the Twin City Over-the-Knee socks which measure 26" from the heel to top. With free returns for those in the contiguous United States, there is no risk to see which option will be best for you.
