I am very pleased with this chest protector. It took a couple times wearing it to get it adjusted just right but once you do, it’s great. Lightweight and sleek looking. I’ve taken a couple foul balls and it performs well. I highly recommend for anyone wanting something not so bulky and lightweight.

What I like about this chest protector is the sleek look. I like the lightweight feel and appearance. The protection from a pitch or foul ball is hidden with the plate beneath. I have not taken a pitch yet off it, but I am comfortable with taking one. The adjustable side panel and shoulder pads make the fit that much better. Much more form-fitting. Perfect for softball at any level.

Not confident this umpire chest protector will protect me in high school and college baseball. It's an ok fit but not for me.

| Q: | I umpire higher levels of college fastpitch as well as summer ball and high school softball. I also work men's fastpitch softball. Can you touch on the level of protection provided with this chest protector, mostly in consideration to working men's fastpitch? I currently wear the Honigs Elite fastpitch chest protector, however, I am looking for more security when working higher levels of play, thus, I am shopping the All-Star or the West Vest Memory foam (however, I think the WV may be overkill). | A: | This and other soft shell chest protectors have more surface coverage than what you have. So, from that standpoint, it protects more areas. With the inner plates and construction of this one, this is more protective than other soft shells. So, if you want to stay in a soft shell, this is a protection upgrade for both reasons.
