It was time to replace a mask of 10 years. One of my partners has this and it’s very light. He’s taken many shots off the beak and he said it works just as well as the old heavy metal ones. I haven’t even fitted it yet with my hat and glasses but, I used his on the field and you will notice the light weight aspect. My throat guard attached perfectly. I’ll update the review after some fall ball games.

Plastic Umpire Plate Brush

I don’t think we use this brush correctly. This is not a good plate brush. It’s 1/2 the size of the wooden handle brush and 1/2 as thin. I use this brush on the bases when I come in and clean off the pitcher’s plate. The wooden brush is too bulky for pants pockets on the bases. This is perfect for a pocket on the bases.

There are a lot of stiff bristles for cleaning the plate. The large wooden handle is perfect for the second ball bag and cleaning off the plate after a slide that covers the plate with batter’s box dirt. Excellent tool for behind the plate.
