I got it and just don’t like the fit. The chin comes up too far and adjusting it seems like it won’t do much good. It offers great vision though but the fit just isn’t there for me. It’s heavier than my hockey-style All-Star mask that I bought over 10 years ago which is crazy to me.

I've only worn this helmet for a couple of games, but so far it's fantastic. I really enjoy the extra protection and haven't felt a huge difference in weight or when running with the helmet. The main thing I'm getting used to is working with the helmet when I'm taking line-up changes or notes. The ventilation is excellent and I don't feel a huge temperature difference. It's also a great conversation starter with catchers. I'd also like to applaud Ump Attire's customer service. There was a very small issue with my order and they were quick to address my inquiry after some research. The communication was excellent and the resolution took just a couple of days.

First hockey style helmet I've purchased. I've only used it for a small amount of time but am very happy with it. The hits were absorbed like nothing. The matte black helps with glare if not wearing glasses. Weight may have to get use to it, the transition wasn't so bad since I own a Force3 defender mask. Looking forward to season and seeing how mask preforms during HS/travel/RBI/showcase tourneys and all other leagues. Stay tuned.

I have a big head and heard that this helmet was heavier than most, so I was a little apprehensive but decided to go for it anyway. With the adjustable padding and straps, this helmet is great for people with larger heads like mine (to make my big brain calls lol.) It does conform closer to the head/face than previous helmets I've had; which is going to be difficult if you have glasses that aren't close to your face. The helmet is noticeably heavier than others, but it is very well-balanced and I didn't notice much added stress to the neck the way you might expect. How does it perform, though, I hear you asking... Perfectly! In the first two weeks of the fall ball season, I took two shots off the helmet and didn't flinch. My last helmet would have been fine protection, but I would have felt it. With this, it was as if someone threw a tennis ball at me and not all that hard. Not perfect by any means, but the best helmet I have ever tried. I would definitely buy it again.

Fits great I wear a hat while wearing the helmet no problem running proper mechanics with it behind the plate. I also wear glasses again no issue. This is my third helmet coming from the Wilson and the Force 3. By far this is the best helmet. By the way, an excellent price for this.

I just tried this new helmet for the first time last night. It wears well, has plenty of vision, and allows me to wear sunglasses that won't come off when I remove the helmet. It is a bit weighty, but I am used to that since this is my fourth All-Star helmet. I will not wear anything else.

Just delivered yesterday. I’m one of the very few “bucket” wearers in the area and I’ve had my All-Star System 7 Titanium for several years. The weight of the MVP5 is a concern. Carrying an extra pound on your neck for 9 innings can have negative effects. Also, the location of the straps that hold the back plate is a problem as they hit your ears when putting it on. The straps are located inside the shell. This was not the case with the System 7 as the straps were fastened on the back of the plate and ran outside the shell. This location may also subject the straps to perspiration and reduce wear time. Protection is very important at the higher levels of baseball but so is comfort. All—Star protection is unparalleled but they seem to have sacrificed comfort in the process.

This helmet was just delivered to me. The All-Star MVP5 is a good helmet. The vision is great, more inside room. BUT, it's heavy at 3.4 lbs. I know it doesn't sound like much difference but the Wilson Pro Stock Titanium comes in at 2.3 lbs. But, if you need the extra room inside, this is the way to go.

It works with Glasses! What a concept! The interior sides only have a single layer of padding, allowing for glasses and sunglasses to be worn and not ripped off your face when removing the helmet. With that said, I did find a very cheap pair of glasses straps on Amazon that cost $10 and work great with any helmet.
As for the build quality, it is very good, as to be expected from All-Star. It’s Matte Black, so looks cool as well.
I have big head, I usually prefer a 7 5/8 fitted baseball hat and this fits me well. Reminds me of my old Wilson Shock helmet from a few years ago.

I just received this, and it fits great. I can't wait to use it in a game. Have been wearing a Wilson Shock FX for several years and needed a new helmet. I tried 4 or 5 helmets that I ended up returning because they were too tight and didn't fit over my glasses. This one goes on and off easily. I wear a 7-5/8 hat. Becoming a big fan of All-Star and their Cobalt products - I love my Cobalt chest protector.
