Smitty Performance Flex Fit Umpire Cap
Official 2-Minute Review: Smitty Performance Flex Fit Umpire Caps
Ty takes you behind the plate with Smitty's lightweight, performance flex fit umpire caps. Available in black & navy with 4, 6 & 8 stitch bills.
I bought one of these last year and used it all summer. The hat breathes better than any black hat I have ever had. The material is cooling; you can feel a breeze on your head when one blows by you! It dries quickly, so you can wet it down between innings if you'd like to help you cool down on those super-hot, multiple-game days. My only complaint is it does seem to fade a bit faster than the older wool hats, but I'll take that trade-off any day for all of the cooling help it brings to an umpire out in the sun for 8-10 hours on tournament days! My recommendation is to buy one and use it. It's worth it in my book.
A very nice lightweight cap to wear on the bases during the summer.

Very light and comfortable. Behind the plate, the Flex-fit is not as secure under my mask as my Smitty fitted cap, but it is cooler out on the bases.
Questions About This Product
|Q:||Please explain better what is the 4”, 6”, and 8” stitch pattern on the bill?|
– Tim Thornton
Those are your number of stitch lines on the cap bill. The more stitch lines, the longer the bill. The 4-stitch is 2" in length, best for plate. The 6-stitch, 2.5" in length for bases. The 8-stitch is 2.75" in length and best for bases.– Ty Unthank
