Poly Spandex Umpire Pants

Poly Spandex pants are high-performance pants made from polyester and spandex. Most are 92% polyester and 8% spandex. However, the tapered style Smitty pants are a lighter weight and quicker drying, 88% polyester and 12% spandex blend.

Wasn't sure would like these as I have larger legs and lots of pants that are tapered are too tight, not these they are about perfect fit for me have nice clean look when hemmed and have some room to them. They are thinner than my other Smitty standard leg base pants which does add to the liking on those hot days on the field. Believe I will be going to this style when or if my other base pants wear out.

Originally bought size 4 for my daughter who is 5’2”, 120 lbs and normally wears size 2 jeans, but these were too tight. Bought size 8 and they fit much more comfortably. It would be nice if they came in varying lengths as paying an additional $15-$20 to have them hemmed makes these quite expensive.

I recently purchased the Smitty Tapered Poly Spandex Charcoal Pleated Base Pants from Ump-Attire and couldn’t be more pleased. These pants are an excellent choice for anyone—whether you’ve struggled with overly baggy legs in the past or not. They’re lightweight, incredibly comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. I also noticed the waistband feels stronger and more durable than the older Smitty Poly Spandex models I’ve owned. The only drawback is that the lightweight material tends to wrinkle easily after washing. However, I’ve found that washing them and drying on low, then promptly removing them from the dryer, helps maintain the creases and reduces wrinkling significantly. Highly recommended for comfort, fit, and performance!
