Smitty Women's Performance Poly Spandex Charcoal Grey Flat Front Base Umpire Pants
I followed the sizing guide but upon receipt had to size down to the same size I wear in the Fechheimers. When I had the correct size in the waist, even the base umpire pants had gigantic legs. Were these pants even fitted for women in the upper size range? The material feels nice so far - I think it will be great on the hot days, but I haven't been able to wear the pants on the field yet as I've had to take them to get the legs brought in so I don't look like I'm being swallowed by my pants!
As a woman who umpires baseball and loves the idea of a women’s pair of pants, I’m disappointed in these. The waist is very high on them, the waist band is too thick, and the crotch area is still too long. The sizing is way off. I was fully prepared to order a size larger than what I wear in my normal pants, but to have to go up 3-4 sizes for a proper fit is awful. I think there’s still work to be done in regards to making a pair of women’s umpire pants.
I loved the idea of a women's cut pant. I tried them on and found out that I am just too short waisted for any of the currently available cuts of pants. These were better than the men's cut, but still left the crotch hanging low on me. Loved the material, feel and fit - with the exception of having to pull them up higher than my waist, or have low hanging crotch. Am saddened that a 'shorter waisted' option isn't currently available. There were some available last year, from another supplier, but they have stopped offering that cut. Again, the material used is great and I will keep in mind the possibility of alterations being needed for me. BTW: Ump-Attire.com is a great place to deal with. Thanks!
