Description

This is the traditional navy half-zip baseball and softball umpire jacket (pullover) made for chilly to cold weather with powder blue, navy and white stripes over the shoulders.

Made by Smitty, the official supplier of NCAA Championships, it is medium weight and has everything you need for your high school and collegiate games: Water-resistant shell, stand-up collar that can zip up all the way when it turns colder plus a standard elastic waistband.

This umpire jacket is sized right to accommodate your chest protector when working the plate. If you are wearing it on the bases, simply size down.

FEATURES:

  • Side seam pockets
  • Water-resistant micro-fiber shell
  • Nylon-lined for added structure
  • Stand up, zipable collar
  • Matching elastic waistband and cuffs
  • Color: navy with powder blue, navy and white shoulder stripes

Flexible and light enough to wear behind behind the plate for a brisk night in the mid to upper 50s.

I'm 5'8" and 185 lbs with athletic build. Shirt size 16 neck and 44 chest, 34 waist. I ordered the XL and it was way too big. I returned and got the L. The L is perfect plenty of room for chest protector, semi tight on the waist band, loose enough in arms to move any direction I need. Jacket is very warm on a 45 degree 15 mph wind day.

The umpire jacket is perfect for weather in the 50's or 60's with a breeze. I preferred to have a non-lined jacket, because in South Coast California the weather is usually 65+. A wind breaker style jacket is sufficient to keep the plate Ump warm because of the heat the chest protector provides. I have used this jacket sparingly. On the bases I continue to use a long sleeve shirt and undershirt to keep warm. I am still looking for a non-lined jacket.
