UMPLIFE Cube
Gerald W., Rineyville, KY
Definitely worth the money. Kind of bulky in my bag but I love the concept and it's easy to carry as a standalone.
Douglas Umpire Chest Protector
Joseph A. B., Swansea, MA
This is a low-profile hard shell. The shoulders needed to be bent a bit in order to cover my collarbone. After a few games, I truly enjoyed the overall comfort and protection. It is light and protects me against top velocities. The chest protector breathes very well in the heat, and I love the look of it under my plate coat. With shirts, the bottom can pop out a bit. This creates a squared look in the stomach area, it does not bother me, but another umpire has commented that I look like Spongebob Squarepants. I did not use the original harness, choosing instead to utilize a System Seven style harness. Overall, the cost could be a deterrent, and thinner-waist umpires might not like the look in the stomach area. However, this is my favorite chest protector as it offers the protection of a hard shell, and has a very low-profile look.
