I wear size 11D shoes. I am a normal, average-sized person, I'd say. I go about 5-11, 225 lbs. and have muscular calves, but not huge. The smaller size of these socks want to keep rolling down when pulled up over the calf. This leads to them tearing after a few wears. 3.5/5. The larger size comes up over my calf nicely and stays place. 5/5. As for compression, the smaller ones are tighter on my calf, giving more compression as a result (of course). While the larger size does give some compression, they are nowhere near the compression of the MLB socks available from Ump-Attire. 4/5. Now, these socks are comfortable to wear. They fit my feet well and are soft feeling on my feet too. 5/5. Overall, I can fully recommend the larger size while the smaller ones need some fixes before they're truly for up to size 11. My recommendation is to size up on these socks. I'd rather have to fold them down a bit at the top versus having to keep pulling them up like I do with the smaller ones.
