Windsor Single Tone Electronic Whistle
Harris J., Baltimore, MD
This is nice and loud, more convenient for me. I work the umpire position on the football field and only need to blow a whistle very few times during a game anyway. But can have in my hand for a pre-snap infraction, but once the ball is snapped can let it go since it's wrapped around my wrist.
Nike Alpha Huarache Elite 2 Turf Shoes
Dallon C., Ankeny, IA
Pleasantly surprised with these. I wear them for soccer officiating, primarily running lines. They have good traction, so I wear them a lot as an assistant referee/linesman. They have the traction of turf-style soccer shoes with more padding than a soccer shoe, so I wear them a lot when I do tournaments where I'm working multiple games in a weekend. Others have mentioned they run a little narrow, so I ordered one half-size up. That was a good decision, so I would recommend others do the save if you have a slightly wider foot. The Achilles padding is a very nice touch. Overall, these are good shoes that combine a lot of good features of a running shoe with more traction.
