Smitty Grey Compression Tights with Cup Pocket

These pants sizing was definitely changed. VERY VERY tight for a 2XL which I have always worn in the past. I have utilized these pants for MANY years but this go-around is not sized like the past. Otherwise, the other parts of the pants are on point- cup pocket is roomy enough for the ‘banana style cups’ and none else. The waist size is accurate. The length is accurate as I am 6’3” and the pants do come down to my ankle area. Be careful when ordering. Large thigh people need not apply!

I use X-Large in size. Went up one size XXL for the compression pant. Still can't fit them on. Shirts I use X-Large. They fit just fine.

Fit is true. Cup pocket is a little off for the type of cup I have, but I just use these under the supporter I have.

These fit well. Cup stays in place as expected. Not too hot. The stitching on the rear seams is not great and has been coming out, however I've worn them for about 10 games.

I’m a bigger dude, 40” waist. These fit nice and tight. The cup slot was not the best. For the price, these are worth it.

Had a friend tell me about these. So I tried them out. Got to say, I’m glad I’m glad I did. These are amazing.

I am an umpire have been for 41 years and had to replace the compression tights I have used for years so I began looking for replacement wear and I found this product seem to fit the bill. This product is exactly what I was looking for. It does what it was made to do it's comfortable to wear and keeps my lower extremities warm and supported. If your looking for a good fit and comfortable wear this is what you want.

The tights are really good but run small. You definitely need to size up.

This product fits perfectly to the legs and has a big enough slot to fit any type of cup. Great addition to my umpire wardrobe.

Absolutely read and follow the suggestion for the "sizing up" as the XL I initially ordered wasn't the right size at all. You have to size up as the product page describes. These wear well - comfortable and lasted a long while - these are replacements for a pair owned previously.

Good for cooler days, but there are better ones with much better material for those warm/hot days.

Very disappointed, I wear L/XL and ordered a 2XL and the pants are so tight I cannot wear them.

Good fit, easy to clean, provides protection against straps and gear, and support to leg muscles.

Keeps me cool in the summer and warm in the spring. Color is lighter than I hoped.

Wore these on a 90-degree day, and I still stayed cool.

I was nervous about buying this. I was afraid it would be too warm to wear in the South Carolina heat. I was very wrong. They work amazingly and actually keep me cool. The one part that I don't like is that the cup pocket is a waste of material. My Nutty Buddy could not fit into the space provided. That was easy to overcome by just using a jock strap on top.

These fit okay and feel good. The cup pocket is sewn in rigid though, I prefer a looser feel when inserting my cup.

I highly recommend this product. Very comfortable but more importantly the cup pouch keeps it where it needs to be.

Bought the same size as another pair of these that I have that fit great..sizing up one size. Neither of these latest two pairs fit well, and they are the same size as the old ones. They are overly tight through the legs, and the cup is very difficult to get into the pocket (traditional cup and the Shock Doctor cup). When you squat to go into the call a pitch mode, the cup shifts up and out, totally leaving you exposed down below. Not sure if I will be a two sizes up..it’s a crap shoot since they can’t be returned. My thought right now is to avoide these and not take the risk of wasting more money on this product.

Needed a new pair of tights for baseball season. Went with these Smitty brand tights and wont buy another. They are comfortable and breathable. Only complaint is the cup pouch doesn't accommodate all cups.

Ordered the Smitty Grey Compression Tights with cup pocket on the 11th of May, received on the 13th of May, and put them to use on the 15th of May. Boy am I happy I did! This was by far the most humid and hottest day behind the plate here in Mid-Maryland this year working a doubleheader in Carroll County. I was hesitant to wear them at first due to the heat, but that would have been a mistake. The two biggest takeaways from this review are that it is a big plus to keep the equipment pads, attachment straps, and shirt stays off of your skin. The most important is that my legs did not feel as worn out as normal following the doubleheader. I'm not saying that they work magic, but I could feel a measurable difference during and after the games. I highly suggest ordering two sizes larger than you normally would or add four inches to your waist and order based on that measurement. This product does run small.

Comfortable. My only issue, it does not hold the Nutty Buddy well. The cup pocket is for a traditional cup.

You might consider ordering two sizes up. I ordered a size larger than normal and I still found them to be incredibly uncomfortable and too tight around the waist. The quality is good and the cup pocket is a positive for working the plate. Just beware...you cannot return these.

I received these past the end of the season. Seem to be good quality. Definitely heed the recommendation to order at least one size up as they run small. I'll update the review in the spring of '22.

Feels comfortable.

These tights are great and for more than just umpire attire. Our son actually uses these under his hockey gear and these are very comparable to name brand hockey attire that has a price tag 2 to 3 times the price of these. He also wears these under his baseball pants on cold days. The convenience of the protective cup pouch is excellent, it is hard to find other comparable tights that offer the pouch especially at this price.

A great addition to the uniform. Keeps pants from becoming sweaty and with the pouch for your cup is very convenient! Have been using these tights for years.

These tights are excellent. They're more substantial and more well-made than some others I own. Works well with the Shock Doctor cup.

These were a little baggy on my smaller frame. I am 5'7", 155 lbs. The fit is fine in the length but sloppy through the butt and crotch. My regular cup does not fit.

I really like these tights, they did make me feel cooler during the game. I like that it has a cup support stitched in them. They are a little tighter then I thought for a bigger guy, which isn’t bad but not really comfortable for a whole game. I would recommend going up a size if your are a bigger guy.

Thought they were a little tight for the size I bought and the cup pocket, not sure about that size or the cup that might fit. I like that they are not hot like other tights I have worn under gear.

Great fit, keeps me cool, doesn't rid or fall doing movement behind the plate. The cup pocket is a little small for the size cup I have didn't think that I was needing to buy another cup for just those pants.

Nice tight fit. Love the cup pocket. These pants aren't hot and help keep my shin guards from rubbing during the hot Alabama days.

I had purchased the previous version; they were black. Loved them!! I ordered these in same size but they were much tighter. Cup pocket is smaller as well and my cup tends to creep up and out. Won"t reorder these; please bring back the previous version!

This is my second pair and they're great. Tuck your umpire shirt into these and there's no need for one of those straps...the shirt stays tucked in. The cup pocket is awesome too. 5 out of 5 stars for me!

No more wearing long shorts and high socks. You will stay cooler, dry and no strap burn/rub after the game. I usually wear a medium and went with Large and fits great. So order one size up and you'll be happy with your purchase.

I ordered a large which was recommended base on sizing chart of 34-36, tight were very snug and cup pocket does not set in the right place and constantly have to adjust. I wish someone would make with the floating cup pocket!

Ordering 1 size up from your normal size is the right thing to do. These tights fit very well from that aspect. I think the Cup pocket is a little tight, so it's not a one size fit's all for cups. They keep you very warm but dry on hot days. It's all how you feel personally. I think they made my shin guards feel more comfortable when behind the plate. I just wish that they came in black with a cup pocket.

Fit well and are very comfortable to where under leg pads. Prevent rubbing and keep me cool at the same time.

Love these, I wear them for baseball and football, they fit comfortably under my uniforms, another great product from a great company.

Prefer these to long socks, compression shorts, jock strap and or nothing at all. They keep you cool and have lasted me several seasons.

These compression tights help keep me cool in the hot months and warm in the cold months. I like the cup pocket so I do not have to wear an athletic supporter to keep my cup in place. The elastic waist band has stayed tight and not stretched for four full seasons. This pair of tights is every bit as good as the higher price tights you might be looking at.

I bought these for the first time and honestly haven't ever had a pair of tights fit so well. They are just loose enough to allow me to be comfortable and still stay in place. I wore them for 2 games behind the plate and 1 game on the base. They are wonderful, I'm sure I'll be purchasing another pair.

I echo the order a size larger than what you think you need. I had Medium in McDavid's that died after 8 years. Replaced with these as I knew Jim and staff would ship quickly. They did and they worked but were not as comfortable as McDavid's and did not provide me as much support as I wanted in spite of being tight and smaller than I thought. I had to cut the waistband to make them more comfortable. I wound up replacing with a different brand and threw these away by laying on top of a trash can in a locker room where someone else could salvage them if they wanted to. Will do in a pinch and they do protect your legs from chafing by straps but there are better products out there.

Order a size larger than what the chart shows, run a little small. But great item especially as a home plate umpire.
