Description

These umpire shin guards provide the same nylon shell-on-foam padding construction and similar hard shell ankle protection as the Wilson Professional model, but in a lighter weight, double knee setup.

Features

  • Unique double knee design provides some above-the-knee protection.
  • Contoured inner padding is nylon shell with foam for superb comfort to both knee and leg - same padding design as Wilson Platinum and Gold chest protectors - and also extends enough around the leg to prevent rubbing from strap hooks.
  • Floating middle knee for better flex upon bending
  • Expanded ankle hard shell plates over nylon shell and foam for maximum ankle protection
  • Contains MLB logo and "W" Wilson logo on each side of ankle plate
  • Removable shin pad for easy cleaning
  • Removable instep plate
  • Weighs approximately 4lbs
  • Shell color matches both Wilson Platinum and Charcoal chest protectors.

Wilson is the official umpire gear of Major League Baseball® and Minor League Baseball®.

Questions About This Product

Q: I have had these now for quite some time. The top of my plate shoes have worn through when I wear these. Can you tell me what the problem is? Thank you.
– Joseph Danielsen
A:

From what you are describing Joseph, it sounds like your shin guards are too long which is causing them to rub against the top of your plate shoes as you work. Check out the Fitting Room for instructions on how to properly measure your legs to determine the appropriate size.

– Scott Kennedy

Q: Do these have removable pads you can clean?
– Kevin Collett
A:

These shin guards do have a removable pad for cleaning. The pad should be wiped clean using a cloth with mild soap and water and air dried. It is not recommended to put the pad in the washing machine.

Q: How hot are these pads? Are they suitable for summer months?
– Chris Berti
A: The nylon shell the padding is in helps wick away moisture. These are suitable for the summer months.

Love these umpire shin guards. My prior shins were a lot more bulky (very catcher's gear like) so these were a welcome change with a smaller footprint so to speak. Feel very protected with them on and have taken plenty of balls off of them and have never even felt a thing.

I am very pleased with this model. Extremely comfortable and easy to get in and out of. Detachable padding makes for easy cleaning. Great value for the price.

Really like these umpire shin guards! On my second pair! Honestly like these better then Force3 shin guards. Extremely comfortable and I don't feel confined or restricted when getting out from behind the plate! Highly recommend these shin guards!
