Went to this from a pretty cheap plastic one. The bulk in my opinion is worth it since to me it feels stronger. Wheels slide OK but aren't the greatest. As well as going from a 4-3-3 counter to a 3-2-2 counter was pretty difficult. Also carries a hefty price tag that could definitely be lowered to a more plausible number.

Upon receiving them they looked baggier than I expected, and I was concerned about them being too much working the field. After getting them properly hemmed, it turned out that they were perfect. Easy to move in on the bases, and still big enough to fit the shin guards without looking tight. The perfect backup pair of umpire pants to have on hand at all times for whatever work might come up on those long days with multiple games.
