I just purchased these recently for my upcoming umpire season and they are exactly what I wanted and more, with a minor issue. They have amazing protection throughout the entire shin guard. Umpired a scrimmage and took a few balls of the shin and didn't feel a thing. The hard shell ankle protection is what sold them me, amazing protection for a ‘budget price’. Plus the air ventilation keeps them cool throughout the game. The only thing that I dislike about them is the fact that they don't curve to the leg at the top as most shin guards do, decreasing the lower profile at the top and making them a little less comfortable to wear. If that was changed I would have given them a 5 stars. But I wasn't a big fan of how they sat. Besides that great shin guards, would recommend!
