• True to size? Some, not all, say this shoe runs one-half size small. When in doubt, consider sizing up. Note in general plate shoes do not have the stretch normal field or tennis shoes have so order accordingly.

"I read that these plate shoes run small and I am a true size 11 hence, I opted for 11.5. The fitting is great and I am glad I ordered the extra half size. These shoes are incredibly light given the impressive amount of protection. With these shoes, shin guard ankle plates are simply not required. They fit well however, as indicated, I would advise that those looking to purchase consider adding a half size to their actual foot size. In any event, I have used them for about 12 plate games since getting them and I have to say, they are fantastic."

"Excellent shoes. I was hesitant to get ‘high tops’ but they are very comfortable and provide fantastic support, traction and mobility while behind the plate. The steel protection is nearly unnoticeable yet obviously sufficient for a foul ball. I’ve taken several balls off my feet without a wince. In fact, I typically wear orthotics for ankle rolls but have found them to be unnecessary in these New Balance shoes. One critique, replace the shoe laces immediately. It appears New Balance went all out in creating these shoes and the laces were an after-thought. Both my laces broke on the same day while dressing for a game (after about 12 games). Buy yourself some nice laces and purchase these shoes!"
