Champro Pro-Plus Plate Armor Umpire Chest Protector

Comfortable and such a difference from my soft shell. I tried a couple other hard shells that where either too bulky or too awkward feeling. The protector is not only comfortable but it can take a shot while staying relatively cool in the heat.

Great chest protector for a young umpire just starting out. This chest protector lasted several years for me. Has a nice, clean, low-profile look. Perfect for calling younger ages. Would recommend upgrading to a thicker chest protector for calling high school age baseball.

The chest protector feels great, but I will not know how it will protect me, since my season will not start until May 2022.

It took several attempts to get properly fitted, but one I did I really enjoy this umpire chest protector. It has already took some shots from foul balls, and done great!!

Very comfortable setup. I am around 6'3" and very long waisted/torso. Went with the 16" setup and it fits pretty well and just covers the bottom of my rib cage without any add-ons/extension pads.

It took me some time to properly adjust it - I'm pretty short at 5'6" but with broad shoulders, but now it fits great. And it looks awesome under the shirt too! Good product at an affordable price, just what you would expect from Champro and Ump-Attire.com!

I'm 6'2" with 40" waist. This product is lightweight, fits good, and is long enough. On/off easy. Two observations: 1. The neckline is cut low in front - so much so that I ordered a throat guard to be safe. 2. Really need to protect your arms too-must order arm guards if umpiring pitches with any velocity.

Good fit and support straps. As a bigger guy, this has plenty of room. Not heavy and easy to put on and take off. Excellent protection for the price point.

Best umpire chest protector!! I have had it for a few years now, and good for any level of baseball.

I just got hit on a foul ball on my shoulder on the weekend, and a fair bit of damage was done. I think it was where the pads are meeting and the ball managed to get between the pads. Chest protection is good, but that gap on the shoulder is bad news.

I switched from the Douglas hardshell chest protector to the Champro, Absolutely Love it!! Once you get in the right place, it doesn't move. Paid the extra and got the abdominal extension. Couldn't be more happy!!

This umpire chest protector is a good buy for the money. It stays put, and is comfortable to wear.

I love this chest protector. Great shoulder coverage and long enough for my 6'4" frame that I have complete torso protection. It's light weight, easy to pack in my equipment bag and it's low profile. And it's a great value.

I love this umpire chest protector. It's more slim-line than the one I had and light weight. I would recommend this product to anyone at the high school or college level.

Light weight and comfortable. I have been hit a couple times (Babe Ruth level) so far and haven't felt a thing.

So far so good. A lot cooler in the summer than my old one. Good protection. I have ordered bicep extension and extender. I do HS varsity.

I'm honestly disappointed. I'm 6'0, 250 lbs. I have taken 3 shots in the shoulder area where, when in the slot, the armor spreads and has a fairly large gap. Tonight however was the last straw. 70mph-ish fastball the catcher missed hit me square in the rib-cage. Not only were my ribs exposed, it hit off the cheap plastic clip and exploded leaving quite the blast pattern around my ribs. And this was 16U. No thank you! I'll have to find a way to attach as I see no replacement clips until I land on a new umpire chest protector.

Provides good protection up to at least 14u.

This product is good for softball and young league. Thin with hard shell.

Just wore my new Champro Plus this weekend for 2 games. Very happy with it. I was using a Douglas but could never get the plates to curve as much as I needed, even heating them. This has separated plates and pads which wrap nicely around the sides. It is very light and very low profile. The make-up of it is almost identical to my older WV but much cheaper, cooler and lighter. So far a big fan!

Take your time when you get this to try it on and get it snug and fitted, before you go a game. It fits like it is supposed to, and works. Hard shell.

Bought this because of the added length and at 6'6", it fits very well. It does make a loud crack when it takes a fast ball, but it eats up the shock and protects very well. I am very happy with it.

Multiple adjustment points allows for a custom fit. The XL size is great for a taller umpire like me and the padding configuration offers more than adequate protection. It absorbs the shock of errant balls at any level with no body marks. The best protector I've owned.

Purchased to replace a unit I have. It is sound and as I have had several bypasses it was recommended to me. I can't wait to try it.

Nice fit. Better than the West Vest chest protector which cut my neck and needed to be molded before every game. Looking forward to a long season with it.

Had it for nearly two seasons now and have taken shots to nearly all areas. I definitely feel the shot each time, with one to the side underarm flappy pads bruising (nothing to the hard shell ever bruised, and to be honest, the pads to the side protecting the underarm are pointless and flip up constantly). A recent 80 mph fastball straight to the chest stung but there was no mark or bruise. I like this chest protector, but will be upgrading to a West Vest as soon as this one wears out.

Great shoulders, form fitting, and never a stinger. The armpit protection is pointless and I found mine flipping up when it was new before it was broken in.

Have only worn my new umpire chest protector for three games. So far, it has been a comfortable fit. The adjustable straps made it to contour to your body. The protector dries very quickly. A great product for the price.

I purchased this chest protector last fall and really love it. I had some trouble with the way some other chest protector fit but Myra and Brandon provided some excellent customer service and recommended I try this one. The fit is great, it's light and it breathes well. The straps and fit provide the necessary security without restricting my movement at all. I've taken some pretty good shots with 14 Majors and HS ball and I haven't had a problem.
